Good morning, this is Crystal Sharpe, and welcome to the Ancient Scrolls program. This is the day that the Lord has made. Today is the first day of the week, Sunday, December 31st; tonight at midnight, the New Year of 2018 begins.
It has certainly been a difficult year for many people in Texas; Californians have had to cope with fires all summer and autumn long. There was a massacre in Las Vegas at an outdoors concert, protestors, Muslims running over people with their vehicles. Anyways, life definitely has its challenges, but the joy of the Lord is our strength and the same God that got us through last year will be the same God to go with us into the New Year; and He knows the end from the beginning.
Okay, so this program, Ancient Scrolls, started on WBKW 93.5 fm, but that station is now going secular; so Ancient Scrolls was moved to here to Groovy.
I am going to give a little bit of introduction to new listeners, I usually teach from an ancient view, or perspective of the manners and customs of the ancient people– the Hebrews, which we recognize as Israel today, or Jews. Israel today consists mostly of the tribe of Judah, and scattered among them are some descendants from the tribe of Benjamin; and a few years ago I saw people from the tribe of Manasseh return to Israel as well as those Levites and the Cohen from the tribe of Aaron. The Levites, or the direct descendants, the Cohen, from Aaron’s lineage are now practicing the Tabernacle or temple services in Israel. I find that quite fascinating.
So that you will be aware of it, I pronounce Jesus as Yeshua, because that is His Hebrew name. It is recorded in the gospel of John 5:43 that Yeshua said, “I have come in my Father’s name . . .” So . . . what is His Father’s name? It is YHWH, God is His title. We see a portion of Yah’s name in Hallelu-yah. Yah is found in Yeshua. Yeshua is a contraction of of Yehoshua (we say the Greek form Joshua as in the book of Joshua, the book after Deuteronomy). Okay, so Yehoshua means “Yah’s Salvation;” and Yeshua is a contraction of it that begun in around close to the second temple period, I think even before the tribe of Judah was released from Babylon. So, Yeshua did come in in Father’s name; He bore His Father’s name; Yeshua means Yah’s Salvation.
I call the first five books of the Old Testament, Genesis to Deuteronomy, we say Pentateuch, or the commandments, Laws, etc.; but I keep the Hebrew word Torah, because embedded in the word Torah is “Orr” which means light. Light, like the menorah in the Tabernacle and Temple of God. Torah means Teachings, Hebrews or the Jews say the teachings of Moses.
Then too, I call all of the Old Testament, the prophets, and those writings: those writings like psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job, Esther, Ruth and Lamentations, and with the inclusion of the Laws or teachings of Moses as the Tanach. So from time to time, you will hear me say Tanach which is the Old Testament, and Torah as the Teachings of Moses.
The New Testament in Hebrew is Brit Hadasha.
So for the next few weeks I am going to concentrate on a couple of things like the seed, the wheat and tares, the field– or the man of the field which represents patterns of the anti-Christ, and we will have some discussion on thorns as well; and, I think these are needful today since within the next few years we are going to see the anti-Christ come to power and he will make it mandatory for the Chip, or the RFID; and right now there is a more improved RFID that is called the NFC (Near Field Communication).
It was on the evening news in August that a company in Wisconsin called the Three Square Market had a party to have 50 of their employees chipped with the RFID. It seems this is becoming more accepted as time goes along.
So, let’s go ahead and pray
Father, Thank you for being God, and for being King of the Universe. You are the holy One, giving life to all creation. Thank You that You sent Your Son to dwell among us, that the word became manifested into the likeness of Your Son. You heart’s desire is to dwell with man.
You are merciful and compassionate. Your mercy endureth forever and Your mercies are new each morning; great is Your mercy toward us. Your banner over us is love. Help us to obey Your word to love You with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength; help us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
I ask You, Father, to convict this nation and our hearts of our unrighteousness, surgically remove the callouses from our hearts, and dig out the stony places that prevent Your word from flourishing in us; pull down every stronghold, every false doctrine, every worldly ideology that is against the knowledge of You. Convict this nation of its porn, its sexual addictions, child molestation, its vices, its idolatry, adultery, witchcraft, charismatic witchcraft, drug addiction, its hatred of You, murder, its greed, its obsession with self-gratification. Help us to be sensitive to Your Spirit.
Father, push back the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places that prevent Your word from taking root in us; for Your word is the seed of life, your word is seed of truth. I plead the Blood of Jesus on this nation, on this state, in Beckley. We ask you to send angels on assignment that will sabotage every plan of the enemy, that every weapon formed against Your remnant church will not prosper. We thank You for the soon outpouring of Your Spirit in these last days.
We pray for our president that You will prosper him in Your knowledge, wisdom and understanding, and discernment. We pray protection over him, his wife, children and grandchildren. We pray Your justice and righteousness will prevail over the darkness in this nation, and the nations.
We bless You today. Amen
Ok, the one scripture my husband often quotes to me is from Isaiah 46:9-10
- 9. Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure . .
And so that is where we will go is to the beginning—in Genesis, where we learn about seeds of its own kind, and trees of its own kind—and this is the law of seeds, it will produce only its kind; and this is the teaching on the serpent—it will produce its own kind as well as the beasts of the field producing their own kind (which this can represent those who follow after Satan).
Then God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth and it was so
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw it was good.
God is an agriculturists as is His Son, Yeshua, because in His parables are symbols of wheat, tares, seed, trees, grass, stones, the field, soil, thorns, grapes, lilies, and vines.
Even John the Baptist refers to those cult leaders in the Temple period as trees that will be cut down with an ax. He also referred to them as vipers.
And Yeshua at times didn’t mince any words when He referred to those cult leaders as sons of their father the devil. So these images are the same images we find at the beginning in Genesis and all the way to Revelation.
So we are going to look at some passages in Genesis and have some understanding about the beast in the end.
When Adam is formed from the ground, and he is placed in a garden eastward in Eden (Eden means delight and is the name of the earth) and his wife joins him, he has only one commandment to obey which was to not eat fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil. Everything else is easy, how can you screw it up. We go to Chapter 3 and see how bad it gets: Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, Has God indeed said You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
I was talking to my husband about this imagery, the serpent and the tree
What is most familiar to us is a rod entwined by two serpents and sometimes the rod is topped by two wings, and this symbol is seen on ambulances, hospitals and other medical facilities. This symbol is the called a Caduceus, the magic wand of the Greek god Hermes (adopted by Rome as the god Mercury) who was a messenger of the gods, inventor of magical incantations, the occult, conductor of the dead and protector of merchants and thieves. So, you see there is nothing here in this brief description about medicine or health care.
However, the Caduceus appears to have its roots in Mesopotamian (or Babylonian) mythology of the deity Ningishzida (translated means “lord of the good tree”) around 4000 to 3000 years B.C.
The other rod that should be used as a symbol for medical organizations is the Rod of Asclepius. It is a rod entwined by one serpent. Asclepius was known as Imhotep in Egypt. The followers of Asclepius grew around the 5th century B.C. and people flocked to his healing temples to be cured. So the rituals consisted of offerings and sacrifices. Some healing temples had dogs to lick wounds, and some temples at nonvenomous snakes roaming around and if you were bitten by one then the priest would say you were healed.
So we see this imagery of counterfeit deities, counterfeit temples, and counterfeit healing.
Then I guess I should mention this from the book of Numbers 21:8-9 in which Moses fabricated a serpent on a pole. The Hebrews had spoken badly of God, of the manna He gave them and of Moses, so God sent fiery venomous serpents among them. If those bitten looked upon the icon of Moses, they were cured of the poisonous bites. This speaks, of course, of Yeshua taking away the curse of our sins, through Him.
So, ok back to Genesis 3 and the conversation between the serpent and the woman: Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, Has God indeed said You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
This is the first time the beast of the field is used, and is a hint, a picture of those who are anti-God, or anti-Christs, and the Bible supplies us with a few examples such as Cain, Nimrod, and Esau. These men have no respect for God or His teachings. They have their own way of wanting to live– without God.
And what we see is a battle of sorts with words, the word of God versus the words of the serpent. The very thing the serpent focuses on rather smoothly is the one commandment given to the man to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; and all who are anti-God are anti-law, or anti teaching as well. And at the end of this age it is the same thing. In Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ
Here is the patience of the saints here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city.
Then this discussion ensues on the commandment of Ld, because there are no other commandments to break.
The serpent said to the woman: “has Gd indeed said: “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” The woman replies they are permitted to eat the fruit of the trees but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Gd has said, “You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.
Then the serpent said to the woman “You will not surely die.”
“For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like Gd, knowing good and evil.”
So the serpent is the other knowledge, the other faith that extinguishes your faith in God.
I am getting close on time here so let’s go to
II Thessalonians 2: this is from the One New Man Version
Concerning the coming of our Lord Yeshua Messiah and our assembling with Him we would ask you, brothers, for you not to be quickly shaken in your mind and not to be frightened, either through the spirit or through a word, or through a letter supposedly from us, saying that the Day of the Lord has already come upon us: let no one deceive you in any way. Because when the apostasy (and the apostasy spoken of here in Thessalonians is already here and this helps usher in the anti-Christ, and this is how you know he is already here) would come first, then the man of lawlessness, (or Torahlessness) the son of destruction, would be revealed, he is the one who opposes Torah and exalts himself upon every Godly saying or object of worship, and thus seats him in the sanctuary of God, proclaiming himself that he is God.
So this man of perdition, or lawlessness, is the seed of Satan.
We see seed is a another agricultural term used in Genesis 1:11
Then God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is of itself, on the earth and it was so
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Okay, I am at the end of the program
Have a good week, Keep your spiritual garments clean, ask God to cleanse you of all unrighteousness every day, remain in His service, Love God and love your neighbor.
So what created seed? The word of God who can create something from nothing because His word is seed, in Greek it means “sperma” like the sperm of a man. The seed, or sperma, is the word of God according to Yeshua in Luke 8:11 where He is teaching on the Sower, and the Sower is Himself, and He gives seed to four soils which only a remnant receives and produces.
What we see is that Yeshua speaks those same agricultural terms as His Father. Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.
There are some heretics in ministry that teach money is seed, it is not.
Jesus said in John 6:63 The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life.
Words affect us and they are invisible.
Have a good week, Keep your garments clean, ask God to cleanse you of all unrighteousness every day, remain in His service, Love God and love your neighbor.
