“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.”

SUMMARY: El Shaddai is said to mean “God of the Mountain” by some scholars. Aram (Syrians) laid siege to Samaria in Israel and King Ahab surrendered. The second siege did not issue success for Aram and attributed their loss to Israel’s God being God of the mountains. They purposed to lure the Israelites in the plain where they supposed the Israel would lose the war. They lost this war as well. God demonstrated He is master over all creation.

Shalom, shalom; peace, peace in the name of Yeshua. This is Crystal Sharpe and welcome to the Ancient Scrolls program.

I do have a website: ancientscrollsonline.com, and I post prophetic dreams, visions, and sources, teachings—ancientscrollsonline.com.

Shema, O Israel, the Lord God, the Lord is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Psalm 24

The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof; the world and those who dwell therein.

Father YHVH,

We thank You for being God, for being the King of the universe; king over heaven and earth. We forgive others their sins against us and we pray to be forgiven of our sins. Help us to thirst after righteousness and justice and to be merciful so that we may obtain mercy from You. I pray for revival, an awakening in this nation. We pray for the hearts of the people in this state and in this nation that You would remove the callouses from our hearts, that we would be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Fill the earth with Your presence. We ask for Your justice and righteousness to reign in all the earth. Thank You for Your Word for it is a light onto our feet. We bless You today. In Yeshua’s name. Amen.

Several times I have stated on this program that we are in the last days revival. It will increase with time. This revival is the signal that we are in the last days. Last program I stated that the kingdom of God is going to come with revelation and demonstration. In some ways it will mirror the exodus from Egypt; Pharaoh being a figure of the antichrist, there are two witnesses, plagues, death, collapsed economies, militaries wiped out. Going through these latter days, all the nations, everyone will know who the real God is over all creation.

I said last program it all could have been preventable, but Pharaoh was the leader of the nation and he wanted it done that way. Everyone suffered because of his self-importance, and his defiance against God. After all, in Egypt the Pharaohs were thought to be half-man and half-god, the son of Ra. Have some of you studied pictographs, representations, of their idols, their gods; they are sometimes depicted as partly human with some sort of a component of an animal attached to them, like upper half of their bodies are beasts of some sort; there is this attachment to the animal kingdom. Similarities can be made in Revelation the antichrist is referred to as the beast and so is the false prophet.

Well, this may have impressed the natives in Egypt, but all these idealized conceptions fabricated concerning Pharaoh did not impress God. Pharaoh was just another man that had an expiration date. All humankind has a shelf life, and it is the same for the antichrist and the false prophet. Pharaoh serves as an example of the anti-christ.

Pharaoh asked Moses: “Who is this LORD (Adonai), that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD (Adonai), nor will I let Israel go.”

Moses goes before the LORD and complains concerning this matter.

Exodus 6:1, the LORD responds to Moses

Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. (It will be like this in the end, how God will perform, demonstrate, His power to the nations) For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land. And God (Elohim) spoke to Moses and said to him: I Am the LORD (Adonai). 3. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty (El Shaddai), although I did not make myself known to them by my name YHVH [Adonai].

I had been taught by a couple of teachers that names in the ancient past symbolized their function, names were like prophetic purposes given to individuals. Even God had named a few people in the Bible. He named Solomon Jedidiah. Jedidiah means “friend of God.” He also named Hosea’s 3 children. They all were prophetic pictures of how He was going to deal with Israel, the northern kingdom. God also named His own Son Yeshua (YeHoshua) and it means YHVH’s salvation; also, Emmanuel (God with us).

When Abraham, Isaac and Jacob called God El Shaddai, they were expressing as how they understood Him, and not by God’s personal name YHVH, the tetragrammaton, the four letters Yod Hey Vav Hey that is pronounced as YaHWeH or YeHoVaH. As it sometimes is there are many debates concerning the correct pronunciation; but we see a portion of His name in the word hallelu-YaH, or praise YaH.

Now El Shaddi, the word El is usually accepted as the word God, and Shaddai has a couple of meanings; in Akkadian it would mean God of the Mountain. The suggestion by some is that it may be connected with the Assyrian mountain (Shadu). The Hebrews took a name representing a mountain to express their understanding about their strong God. Another possibility is that the name derives from the Hebrew word shad or “breast.” And in this case would be seen as a nourisher, the one who imparts and provides life.

The other day I was reading an interesting story concerning King Ahab of the northern kingdom Israel and the King of Aram, Ben-hadad. Aram would be the region known as Syria today. The story begins in I Kings 20. Ben-hadad with 32 other kings lay siege to Samaria. King Ahab is greatly outnumbered so he surrenders. Ben-hadad sends a letter to Ahab: “Your silver and your gold is mine; your loveliest wives and children are mine.” King Ahab replies: Sure. Just as you say, I and all that I have are yours. Ben-hadad’s servants leave and return to Ahab with another message: I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants. And it shall be, that whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put in their hands and take it. The sages understand: whatever is pleasant in your eyes to mean the scrolls of the Torah. By commandment the kings were to have their own scroll or scrolls of the Torah. There were many things Ahab got completely wrong as king, but the one thing he would not allow was for the Torah to go to Ben-hadad. So, the elders counselled Ahab and the reply to Ben-hadad was “no can do.”

Ben-hadad prepares to lay siege once more to Samaria. A prophet approaches Ahab and basically says that all the multitude of soldiers before them would be delivered in Ahab’s hand and that Ahab would know that He is LORD. As good as the prophet’s word, the multitude of soldiers were defeated by God and 7,232 Israelites. Ben-hadad escaped and the prophet gave warning for Ahab to prepare for war again come the next spring. Sure enough:

  1. Then the servants of the king of Syria said to him (Ben-hadad), “Their God is a God of the mountains, and therefore they were stronger than us; but let us fight them on the plain, [see] if we are not stronger than them! This thing shall you do: Remove the kings each one from his post, and replace them with captains (Kings are secure in their position and will not fight hard because they are already king, but ordinary officers, without royal blood, will fight hard to make a name for them themselves and make advancement. And count out for yourselves an army like the army that fell from you, and horse like horse, and chariot like chariot; we will fight them on the plain, and [see] if we do not overpower them!” Ben-hadad heard their voice and did so.

It happened at the turn of the year that Ben-hadad counted Aram (Syria) and he went up to Aphek to wage war against Israel. The Children of Israel were counted and were outfitted, and they went toward them, The Children of Israel encamped opposite them like two groups of goats, while Aram [Syria] filled the land.

The prophet approached Ahab again and said: “Thus says the Lord, Because Aram (the Syrians) said: ‘The Lord is God of the mountains, and not God of the lowlands,” I shall deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you will know that I Am the LORD.’’

They camped for seven days and on the seventh day commenced the battle, and the Children of Israel stuck down Syria—a 100,000 foot soldiers in one day. The remainder fled to to Aphek into the city, and the city wall fell over on them and killed another 27,000 surviving men.

It is true that El Shaddai is God of the Mountains, but He is also the God of the valley, the plains, and with the situation in the city; He apparently is the God of city walls, as well.  The Rubin Edition, The Prophets, I-II Kings

Not only did the nations have this concept that El Shaddai was God of the Mountain, but there are several passages that support this theme. From passages we know there is no doubt that revelation came to Israel on mountains.

I think it is interesting that Noah’s ark rested on a mountain, Mount Ararat. God made promises there that He would not destroy the world by waters again. Moses met God on Mt Sinai. The elders went up to the mountain and ate with God, but Israel met God at the foot of the mountain. It was from a mountain, Mt Pisgah, that Moses could see the promised land.

There was a spiritual confrontation that occurred at Mount Carmel between Elijah and the false prophets of Baal. Elijah built an altar and gave his sacrifice along with water and God sent fire and consumed everything. On this mountain the prophets of Ba’al were slain. After this the drought ended. After three years Israel received rain.

Another spiritual confrontation is recorded in Luke 4:5, Then the devil, taking Yeshua, up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him: All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours. Yeshua answered: “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’

In Deuteronomy chapter 11 and chapter 27, there are two mountains, blessings were issued from Mount Gerizim, and curses were issued from Mount Ebal as Israel passed into the promised land.

Zechariah 8, “I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, The Holy Mountain.”

Yeshua would often go up into the mountain often to have communion with God. His transfiguration occurred on a mountain and there are differences of opinion on which mountain is was. Mathew 17, Mark 9

Revelation 21:10. And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

Daniel 2 and we are going to end the program

This chapter opens with Nebuchadnezzar having had a dream. He calls his magicians, sorcerers and astrologers to not only give the interpretation of it, but they had to tell him the content of the dream itself. If no one would make known the dream or its interpretation he threatened to cut them all to pieces and their houses would be made into ash heaps. They could not appease the king and so in verse 13, So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise men; and they sought Daniel and his companions to kill them. Daniel questioned Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon on why the king’s urgency to kill the wise men. Arioch disclosed the urgency.

Daniel petitioned the king to give him time that he might tell the king the interpretation. Daniel seeks the Lord and in a night vision the king’s dream is revealed to him and the interpretation. The dream concerns an image with a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. Daniel speaks to the King: You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay and broke them in pieces.

Note: Asteroid? Cut without hands.

Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were crushed together and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Daniel gives the interpretation that the degrees or levels of the elements found on the image were kingdoms and each lower kingdom on the image would eventually overtake the kingdom above it. So, it is with the kingdom of God. Mountains can represent kingdoms. The stone became a great kingdom. In Revelation 17, The whore, Babylon, sits on seven mountains which are kingdoms or nations. Some would prefer to say these 7 mountains are hills to make a connection with Rome and the Catholic faith strictly, but it is 7 nations of Europe and the Muslim world. Hills are not the same as mountains.

El Shaddai, the God of the Mountain is going to fill the whole earth with His presence at the end of the age, the mountains, the plains, the valleys, the nations, all of creation will know him by His personal name YHVH. Egypt and Syria are examples of the revelation and demonstration of YHVH.

But I am at the end of this program.

If it is God’s will, I will be here next program

Remember to walk by faith, not by sight. Ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness every day. Keep your spiritual garments clean from spots, wrinkles and blemishes. Do two things this week: love and forgive. Love God, love your neighbor.
