Father,
We thank You for being the king of the universe I am looking for the complete fulfillment of Your word in Revelation 11:15 where it is written that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of God and His Son Yeshua.
We pray that You would cleanse us from all unrighteousness so that our prayers will not be hindered.
You are our only hope in this dysfunctional world of politics, of self-gratification, indulgences, murder, adultery, idolatry, witchcraft, child molestation, human trafficking, abortion, fornication, drug addictions, homosexuality,
We pray that You would dethrone principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places; and that You would pour out of Your Spirit upon all flesh in these last days so that our youth—our sons and daughters will prophesy; and that young men and old men will have dreams and visions.
I pray over those I love who support me in this radio ministry: my husband, Karen Bennett, Sue and Bobi Melton, Krystal Gunnoe, my pastor and church folk, Joan Hamilton, Michael Lucas, Francis Lesly, Pam and Lewis Williams, Shaunna Cole, my younger brother Kennith and his wife Donna, the Baysingers. I pray for all these people who support me and desire me to have every success in the Lord; that everything I do be done for His glory.
We pray Father that Your word of righteousness would wash over the nations.
I pray for President Trump that he would have Your wisdom, Your knowledge and understanding, along with the Spirit of might and counsel and the fear of the Lord. I pray that he would hear the sound of Your voice in his spirit. I pray he will be transformed by Your word and Your Spirit. I pray protection over President Trump and his wife, children and grandchildren.
I mention Your nation Israel whose name is written on the palms of Your hands. God’s eyes are ever on Israel. We pray that Israel would experience a fresh wind of Holy Spirit conviction, so that you will be able to receive Yeshua as Your Messiah.
Thank You for Your love, Father, thank You for Yeshua, for Your Holy Spirit, for Your word. Amen.
Last time I did not have time to go over Obadiah and the destruction of Edom, so I may as well go ahead and finish it out.
Okay, so we will do a brief history on Obadiah first.
Obadiah was an Edomite proselyte who had converted to the God of the Hebrews. He was the administrator of the estate of King Ahab and Jezebel.
Ahab was the king of northern Israel. He was the son and successor of King Omri who was the founder of Samaria. Ahab had inherited the many military virtues of his father and defended his country from the powerful Aramean (which is Syria) kingdom.
King Ahab is said to have been an enthusiastic idolater and had inscribed on every door in the city of Samaria the words: “Ahab hath abjured (abjured means to reject or renounce) the living God of Israel.”
Ahab’s wife, Jezebel, was a Phenician princess who was a tool that cemented political alliances with Israel. She was an aggressive character who brought false charges against Naboth and his sons to have them killed for his vineyard that King Ahab coveted; she was not tolerant of God or His prophets, so she established “No God zones” and went about purging the nation of the prophets of God. She is an example, or type, of antichrist, a hater of God, and a persecutor of God.
Obadiah hid 100 prophets of YHWY from the murderous persecution of Jezebel, and he used all his funds to provide for these prophets. When he became funded out he borrowed money from Prince Johoram who demanded interest which was against the decrees of God in Torah, but Obadiah was desperate and agreed to it. Obadiah died penniless.
Obadiah’s widow is found in II Kings 4 when she locates Elisha, the servant of Elijah. Elijah and Elisha were both familiar with Obadiah, and so his widow explains that the creditor, Prince Jehoram, was demanding her children as a required payment for the debt. As the story goes Elisha instructs her to use the little oil that she possessed to fill other vessels. This miracle releases her and her children from the debt owed Prince Jehoram.
Okay so that is the rest of the story, and we are going to go over the grievances God has against Edom and His royal proclamations of the destruction of Edom.
Scholars say Obadiah’s prophetic word was written about 110 years before the destruction of the first temple, which was fulfilled when it was destroyed by the Babylon Empire. It was fulfilled again at the destruction of the second temple by the Roman Empire and will be completely fulfilled just before the return of Yeshua.
Okay, as a reminder, the Jewish people think of Edom and Rome being the same entity in different prophetic passages, and the reasoning is among the Jewish sages and historians is that the descendants of Magdiel in Genesis 36:43 founded Rome. Now . . . in the past programs I have repeated certain patterns that are written in the word and those patterns we also see in history; for instance, a weed in the new testament (I am talking about the wheat and tare parable in Matthew 13) is translated esau, and Esau was a man of the field, and in a broader sense—the world. When Esau was born he was red and hairy, and his name means red.
Esau sold his birthright for a red stew and he moved to Mt. Seir which is a red mountainous area, he loved to shed blood that is red. In Revelation 12:3 is the red dragon, and in Revelation 17:3 is the description of the woman, who had on her forehead Babylon the Great, and she was on a scarlet or red beast. Mt Seir, in the beginning, was a prophetic picture of the future for Edom encompassing a larger area as shown by the red beast that the woman Babylon sat upon—it had 7 heads. And too, as I was going through looking at some of the ancient flags of Rome; now the flags evolved to different colors over time and later the Holy Roman empire (which wasn’t really holy), but it appears the first flags, the background were a deep red, some say a bordeaux red, then the eagle, the letterings SPQR and lief adornments were in gold. The deep red represented the emperors, and the gold Rome’s sovereignty.
So, let’s get started
- Thus says the Ld God concerning Edom, We have heard a report from the Ld, And a messenger has been sent among the nations, saying: “Arise, and let us rise against her for battle.”
(Some of the rabbis think this may be referring to the war of Gog and Magog, which is destined to take place between the Christian nations and the Arab world and you can look at Joel 3 for additional information)
- Behold, I will make you small among the nations; You shall be greatly despised. (World Empires)
- The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; you who say in your heart, who will bring me down to the ground. Esau dwelled among the rocks at Mt. Seir, which was a prophetic picture of some of those empires like Rome and Babylon, and it is said that Magdiel (his name literally means “raised by God’’) ruled over Persia which is Iran today. Esau was a man of the field and his descendants rule in high places today as in the ancient past. They are noted for their support of murder, abortion, same sex sex, idolatry, adultery, child sacrifice, human trafficking, they support the drug cartels in our government which are espoused with the pharmaceutical companies.
- “Though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” says the Ld. The ancient view is the stars represent Jacob and his descendants.
- If thieves had come to you, if robbers by night—oh, how you will be cut off!—Would they not have stolen till they had enough? If grape-gatherers had come to you would they not have left some gleanings? People will be amazed at Esau’s total destruction in the end of days; and as the past empires have perished so will the future Edom perish: the Persian empire, Babylon; and Rome to a certain extent, it mostly hides behind religious politics in the nations. Rome and the Arabs have already formed an alliance and are just working out the strategies of their global designs.
- Oh, how Esau shall be searched out! How his hidden treasures shall be sought after!
- All the men in your confederacy shall force you to the border; the men at peace with you shall deceive you and prevail against you. Those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you. That is they hid the wound that meant to place upon you beneath a veneer of friendship No one is aware of it. I am going to read you some passages out of Revelation18 and 19
- Will I not in that day says the Ld even destroy the wise men from Edom and understanding from the mountains of Esau? Military prowess depends upon two factors: the quality of the strategic and tactical planning and the valor and strength of the actual armies. God will eliminate the wisdom of the upper echelons of the military so that they will not be able to plan for battle, they will be left without the necessary understanding to achieve military success.
- Then your mighty men O Teman (Teman is the southland) shall be dismayed to the end that everyone from the mountains of Esau may be cut off by slaughter. Their warriers will be broken in strength and spirit and be totally ineffectual in battle. Beginning in verse 10 are the grievances Gd has listed against Edom
For violence against your brother Jacob Shame shall cover you and you shall be cut off forever 11. in the day that you stood on the other side in the day that strangers carried captive his forces when foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem—even you were one of them.
- But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother in the day of his captivity; nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; nor should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
- You should not have entered the gate of My people in the day of their calamity, nor laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity
- You should not have stood at the crossroads to cut off those among them who escaped; nor should have delivered up those among them who remained in the day of distress. Going through this prophecy I can see how this has happened several times and is going to happen in the future again. The Edomites did this to Judah at the destruction of the First Temple and the Second Temple. I have the sage Radak’s approach to Obadiah’s prophecy that all of the prophecy refers to the Roman oppression of the Jewish nation. He explains that at the time of the invasion of Jerusalem by Titus, Edom was still inhabited by descendants of Esau, as well as being ruled by Rome, which itself was ruled by the Edomites (which are the Herods)in the nation. Thus, when the Romans conquered Jerusalem, the Edomites dwelling nearby rejoiced in the downfall of the children of Israel, and whenever possible delivered their refugees into the hands of the Romans. This is considered a grave transgression if only because they were actually brothers to the Jewish nation. It is particularly heinous in light of the fact that the Jewish nation would not attack Edom on their way from Egypt to the Holy land due to that brotherhood. You can see some of these references in Numbers 20
Revelation 17 and 18
This is significant the Song of Moses in Exodus 15 and it is the same song at the end of the book in Revelation 15:3. It speaks of the destruction of those people we have been teaching on for some weeks now. From the beginning their destruction is determined by God, and it is the same people today.

As I have said several times, those people, locations, and events in the beginning serve as a pattern for the end of this age. God continues to speak to us through these accounts. He has given us the power to change our future through repentance and practicing righteousness and justice.
Obadiah expresses those grievances God has against Edom
To the Jewish sages Edom and Babylon are the same entity when read in certain passages of the Bible, they can be interchanged. This is how close they are in relationship to each other as they are with Rome. Rome was founded by the people and culture of Edom, the descendants of Esau. Thus the Romans who destroyed the second Temple (Beit HaMikdash), and those European nations who continued in their path with centuries of Jewish persecution and torture, are all included in the term Edom. It is for this reason that throughout rabbinic literature, the exile the Jews are in now (even though a great many have returned to Israel) is referred to the “exile of Edom.”
The idea of Obadiah is that in time to come God will take retribution upon Edom, who oppressed the Jewish people
